TECHNICAL PROCESSING AND INSTALLATION OF REINFORCED STEEL

    1. Type of steel

    Steel is an important material in construction. The physical and mechanical criteria (steel grade) are in accordance with the design regulations and the type is in accordance with the contract (if any) previously given.

    • When steel is imported to the project, the engineer, along with the supervision consultant and the investor, check the quality certificate of the steel batch and prepare a material acceptance record.
    • Based on the quantity and type, cut steel samples in accordance with TCVN 197: 1985 standards to conduct experiments on physical and mechanical properties of steel. After cutting the steel sample, the parties will prepare a sampling record and seal the steel sample and transfer it to the testing unit.
    • The testing unit is an independent consulting unit submitted by the construction unit and approved by the supervisor. When conducting experiments, there must be full monitoring by all parties.
    • Based on the test results, it is determined whether the batch of steel imported to the project can be used for the project or not, and is also the basis for finalizing the contract to supply steel materials.

    2. Cleaning and polishing steel

    Before being put into construction, steel construction must go through cleaning and rusting. If the steel is rusty or covered in mud, then install it into the structure.

    Steel must be cleaned of mud and rust (if any) before being processed or installed into the structure. Rusty steel is steel that has had steel scales, peeling off the outer layer. If the steel is just yellow, there is no need to clean the steel. If the rust layer reduces the steel cross-section by more than 2%, this type of steel is considered "damaged" and cannot be used. Otherwise, the quality and safety of the project will not be guaranteed.

    • Brush the rust with a wire brush or machine.
    • Treat rust with chemicals.
    • If dirty, you can wash it with a sprayer or wipe it with a wet cloth.

    3. Processing rebar 

    • Reinforcement processing requirements are in accordance with the detailed steel design of the structure and the general regulations of the previously agreed upon design documents.
    • Carefully read detailed steel drawings of structures on plans, sections, architectural drawings...
    • Deploy detailed steel processing designs and supervise for approval. Steel details must comply with the steel connection position. 
    • During the steel processing process, supervision of both parties is required.

    4. Erecting reinforcement

    Reinforcement erection techniques require the right location, the right elevation, and every inch of precision. 

    • For foundations, beams, floors, and stairs, follow the pre-fabricated and installed floor beam beam positioning system;
    • For columns and walls, from the deployed grid on the deployment floor, turn on the column and wall foot sections and adjust the steel, wait to ensure the protection layer before proceeding with steel erection.
    • The protective layer complies with the design regulations for each component.
    • The main steel frame must be stable and have the correct structural shape.

    Connect at the correct location (compression area), at the correct length and in accordance with general design regulations.

    • For floor beams if not specifically specified; Normally, the connection location must not be in the danger zone. One section must not connect more than 50% of the steel.
    • Connection length according to design regulations; If there is no special regulation, the connecting section is 30d in the compression zone; 40d in tow zone (limited use).
    • At the steel connection position, if the bearing steel has a diameter >= 18; the steel must be bent at the connection position so that 2 steel bars; After connecting, it must be concentric (press the neck of the bottle).

    6. Steel bars create a protective concrete layer

    Sufficient strength (if using concrete or high-grade mortar); and ensure the thickness of the protective layer.

    • Steel supports must be cast first to ensure that they will not break when being constructed.
    • At one location, two beams must be placed so that the frame is not twisted and is stable.
    • Dog legs placed on top of the steel layer of the floor: If not specifically specified, dog legs; usually made of steel with a diameter of 10 or 12. In addition, depending on the situation, determine the appropriate type of steel.
