Step 3: Distance between beam edges
The distance or clearance in the arrangement of the conson beam steel; is calculated from the edge of the two nearest reinforcements; must be larger than its diameter and the value of to. The regulation of the value of to in pouring reinforced concrete is as follows:
- Lower part: to=25mm.
- Upper part: to=30mm.
Note:
- Ignore the last two rows, the value of to=50mm when placing two horizontal bars parallel to each other.
- In a narrow construction space, the clearance between the two reinforcements is 0.
- If arranged in many rows, the reinforcement in the upper and lower rows must be placed separately from each other.
